Light of The World Charities at a Glance

Many people do not have the means to access adequate medical and dental care. The Light of the World Charities Organization and its volunteers recognize that finances have a significant impact on a person's access to safe healthcare. LOTWC is a non-profit organization that has been helping people with vital medical, surgical, and dental care since the organization was founded in 1999.

Light Of The World CharityThe mission of LOTWC is "to serve with the highest level of dignity and care, the surgical and dental needs of those who would otherwise go without". LOTWC's volunteer healthcare professionals have all had meaningful and impactful trips to countries like Peru, Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti, as well as some African countries. Through their new Stateside Surgery Program, Light of the World Charities is now able to provide free outpatient surgery within the United States. In 2010, LOTWC established its first dental program in the United States in Palm City, FL. The program began with a staff comprised of eight dentists, four dental assistants, one receptionist, and one dental coordinator. LOTWC continuously handled a growing number of patients and needs in the following years. Now, through LOTWC, over 400 medical and non-medical volunteers give their time, money and expertise to the poor and needy.

The organization also relies on a network of generous donors. Their donations have helped the organization obtain a mobile digital x-ray machine, as well as computer software which helps practitioners better analyze the roots and nerves of a patient's teeth. This new equipment has assisted in the diagnosis, treatment, and care that patients receive.

LOTWC is a well-known organization and all their volunteers—including medical and non-medical staff—are passionately working toward the welfare of the citizens of Florida. Their team is very dedicated and motivated.

Testimonials from various volunteer medical professionals with LOTWC tell of how their volunteerism and interactions with those less fortunate have affected them deeply. Compassion for the needy is a remarkable trait, made all the more profound when coupled with action. Dentist in Palm Beach Gardens Dr. Civin is proud to be a part of the LOTWC organization.
